The Cloître des Carmes has been one of the magical places of the Festival d’Avignon since 1967. It hosted over 160 shows in its premises.
How do the artists use this heritage setting to imagine the scenography and share their universe with the audience?
Following the symposium organized by the Avignon University on June the 5th, 2018, the BnF branch at the Maison Jean Vilar proposes a selection of documents illustrating the rich aesthetic and theatrical history of the Cloître des Carmes.
